1) Swedish Massage Therapy
This is the most common type of massage therapy It is also known as Swedish massage or general relaxation therapy.
Long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements are used on superficial layers of muscle using massage lotion or oil.
Swedish massage therapy can be very gentle and relaxing. If you've never had massage before, this is a good one to try first.
2) Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. The massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle.
Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage. Deep tissue massage is often sometimes painful during the session, however your therapist will consistently check in with you to make sure the pressure is not too intense.
*After any massage it is important to drink lots of water to flush your body of the toxins that are released into the blood stream during treatment. This is CRITICAL with post- deep tissue massage.
3) Pregnancy Massage
Also called pre-natal massage, pregnancy massage is becoming increasingly popular with expectant mothers. Pregnancy massage is used to reduce stress, decrease swelling, relieve aches and pains, and reduce anxiety and depression. The massage is customized to each woman's individual needs. Special positioning of the body is used, often called side-lying.
4) 30 Minute Chair Massage
Chair massage is a massage of the back, shoulders, neck, and arms in which the massage recipient sits comfortably and fully clothed in a specially designed massage chair.
Your therapist will adjust the chair to meet your individual needs of height, and width.
Special cushioning is available for female clients who require extra support.
5) Neck, back, and shoulders Massage
30-60 minute massage session of various techniques that are applied to the Neck, Back, and shoulders.
This massage is ideal for clients who do not want a full body massage, or are having neck, and or back issues, that require more time.
